Feature

Privacy and data

No account, no advertising, no analytics. Calendar and media data never leave the device; location goes only to the map, weather and geocoding services you select.

Femto Car Launcher is a home screen, not a service. It requires no account, contains no advertising and no analytics, and has no server of its own.

What stays on the device

Calendar and media data are read on the device and stay there. Location is read on the device and leaves it only inside the requests to the services you select — the map tiles for the area the map shows, the weather forecast for your position, and reverse-geocoding queries when you point the app at your own geocoding host. The trip track log is a local database; the only way its contents leave the device is a GPX export you trigger through the system file picker, to a destination you choose.

What goes over the network

Network traffic goes only to the services you select:

  • Map tiles and styles from the chosen map provider — the keyless OpenStreetMap provider by default, or Google Maps once you enter your own key.
  • Weather from MET Norway.
  • Reverse-geocoding queries, only when you configure a self-hosted geocoding host. The default reverse geocoder runs on-device.
  • Fonts from Google Fonts, only for a family you pick under Settings.

Keys you enter

Google Maps keys are entered by you, are sent only to Google, and stay on the device apart from your own Android settings backup and device transfer. Google’s JavaScript API collects usage data for Google while the provider is enabled; the privacy policy describes that, and everything else the app does with data, in full.

Permissions

Notification access, when granted, is used solely to read and control the active media session for the now-playing card. Location, calendar and microphone permissions each unlock one visible feature and nothing else; a denied permission renders a reduced card, never a nag.

Diagnostics and licences

An in-app diagnostics report (Settings → System → Diagnostics) summarises device and runtime facts for troubleshooting. It masks API keys and is copied only when you tap Copy report. The open-source licences screen lists every bundled third-party component, and the app’s own terms are reachable from Settings → System → Terms and on this site under Terms.
