Feature
Made for the car — and adjustable
Automotive defaults for legibility and touch accuracy, on any screen shape, with every default left as a user choice rather than a lockout.
Automotive defaults keep the dashboard legible and operable while driving: at the default display size, body text stays at or above 16 sp and touch targets stay at or above 64 dp, and the layout anchors the cards clear of the driver’s view with a left- and right-hand-drive switch. Every default remains a user choice — this is a general Android app, and the person holding the device decides.
Layout
Any orientation and aspect ratio works, from wide head units to portrait phone mounts; the dashboard reflows across a matrix of screen sizes rather than targeting one resolution. Display size offers five steps from small to large. The default (medium) honours the automotive floors above; the small scale deliberately trades those floors for density, mirroring Android’s own display-size control.
Three device classes
- Aftermarket AI boxes that inject Android into a factory display through the car’s CarPlay or Android Auto input. These boxes usually lock the default-launcher slot, so the launcher starts through the box’s own boot-up-app hook.
- Built-in Android head units — aftermarket units running Android, landscape or portrait, at low pixel density and large dp footprints.
- Smartphones mounted as a car-navigation display. Here the launcher also runs as a regular app; making it the default home screen stays optional, because a phone is a shared, everyday device.
Appearance
Material You dynamic colour by default, fixed accent presets as an alternative, light / dark / automatic theme, and a configurable glass look — blur, borders and drop shadows — for the floating cards.
Typography
The system font by default, any Google Fonts family per slot (a Latin face plus a Chinese-Japanese-Korean fallback face) downloaded on demand, or any font already installed on the device — plus user-adjustable text size, weight and letter spacing. No fonts ship inside the APK and no Play Services are required.
Motion, panels and units
- A reduced-motion setting calms animations across the dashboard.
- Calendar, weather and music cards toggle individually; the music card’s spectrum, album name and cover art each have a visibility switch.
- Speed and temperature units and the clock format follow the user, independent of the system locale. No single market is privileged: language, units and locale-specific behaviour adapt per device.
Motion and distraction
The dashboard renders identically regardless of vehicle motion. There is no driving lockout: distraction responsibility stays with the driver and the vehicle’s own instruments, and the launcher’s job is to make the essentials readable in one glance so that no one has to hunt for them.
