Feature

Driving data and trips

A high-contrast speed overlay, an on-device track log with GPX export, and a 3D flythrough of the trip you just drove.

The speed overlay sits on the map in large, high-contrast numerals sized for a glance from the driver’s seat. Everything it shows is computed on the device from the GPS fixes the launcher already receives for the map.

Speed overlay

  • Current speed, in the unit you choose (kilometres or miles per hour), independent of the system locale.
  • Trip distance, average speed and altitude for the current trip.
  • Address of the current position, reverse-geocoded on the device by default. A self-hosted geocoding host can replace the on-device geocoder if you run one.
  • A tap on the reset button starts a new trip; the readout shows a “Since” timestamp so you always know what the numbers cover. A trip also ends automatically after a configurable parked pause, so the readout starts fresh on the next drive without a tap.

Trip recording

An on-device track log records the route at one fix per second while the vehicle is moving. The retention period is configurable, and recorded trips export as GPS Exchange Format (GPX) files through the Android file picker, so the data lands wherever you choose — a folder, a cloud drive, another app — and nowhere else.

Trip flythrough

A tap on the speed panel opens a three-dimensional wireframe replay of the recorded track: a flythrough with a speed-coloured trail and an altitude curtain, rendered natively for smooth motion. Devices without the required graphics support get a two-dimensional replay of the same track, so the feature never disappears — it only loses depth.
